Sunday evening tapas dinner!

Ola!  I know that I said I would write about dinner tomorrow … but I lied!!  Truly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when we headed out … but WOW, did we have a fabulous meal!  (In true confessions in all things Blog, I have to admit that I am the #1 buffet gal; it’s the only reason I’ve ever wanted to go to Las Vegas!  I just love all the different “little bites!”)

Me on the beachfront!

Well …

about 6:30-ish we headed out to Arsenio Manila, that had been recommended by Alberto yesterday.  I had passed it earlier in the day on my beach walk, and figured that would be the first place to try.  Well -- It was just incredible!  We had a lovely table for two inside.  The décor was wonderful – in fact, they had baskets and other round objects attached to the ceiling, and hanging from the ceiling were real dried roses – the effect was lovely!  So … to eat.  We started with a dry white wine of the region.  Interesting, not my favorite, but, as R always says, it gets better the longer it’s open … or hanging around … or something like that!  R decided that it would be my “turn” to order – we started with a spicy langostino salad, followed by thinly sliced Iberian ham and bread … followed by patatas bravas (spiced potatoes) followed by beef stir fry with onions, mushrooms, cabbage and carrots.  Everything – and I mean everything – was absolutely wonderful!  Neither of us can decide which we liked the best!  The langostinos were served with very thinly sliced cucumbers marinated in mirin, with a wonderful thousand-island-type dressing with caviar on top.  No, I have NEVER been a caviar fan – but this was red and really delicious!  Oh boy!  R had a glass of dessert wine from the region, and helped me with a wonderful carrot cake (who knew?!) for dessert.  All in all, the bill came out to something like €60 + tip!  Incredible!!  No wonder that we have reserved for tomorrow as well, especially as it will be a holiday!  Yum!  So, posting photos now, and then to bed so that we can actually explore old town Cadiz tomorrow!

Love to you all!
